On Monday the faculty and student body witnessed the spelling bee as representatives from grades 2-8 competed for the title of school champion.  Last year was repeated as it came down to two 8th graders Jordan Bagheri and Lucas Trott, once again vying for the title.  Lucas won out with Jordan as the runner-up.  We applaud each of our representatives and especially Jordan and Lucas for doing such a fine job.  We know that Lucas will graciously represent us in the Vindicator Spelling Bee again this year. We were honored with Mayor James Melfi as this year’s pronouncer of the spelling bee. Special thanks to our Spelling Bee Committee: Mrs. Smith, Mrs. Macali, and Sister Nancy Pawlen.

On Tuesday we began with Mass, second quarter honor roll recognition, and breakfast treat by our Home and School parents. In the afternoon, the entire student body was treated to a movie, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs shown on our brand new movie-size screen purchased by our Home and School Committee.

On Wednesday, thanks to five of our fathers, our student body joined many other area students to watch the Phantoms show their hockey skills at the Covelli Center.  Several of our students were chosen for the pre-game car race. Upon returning from the Covelli Center, the student body was treated to a pizza party by Mr. and Mrs. Brent Nelson.  Thanks so much!!!

On Thursday students in K-4 did Jump Rope for Heart in the school gymnasium with parents manning the many fitness stations.  Students in grades 5-8 bowled at Kay Lanes to raise money for some needy families. A special thanks to our Phys Ed Teacher, Mrs. Renee Macali and our Liturgy, Music, Art Teacher, Sister Nancy Pawlen and all the parent volunteers who made this fitness-service day so memorable.

On Friday we culminated with a family luncheon.  The students were treated to a half-day off school.  It was a great week, thanks to Mrs. Borton, teachers and staff, parents and students, and Home and School Committee. A special thanks to Mrs. Borton, our principal, Mrs. Lenhart, our school secretary and Mrs. Mazczak, our cook, who coordinated this special event. We are blest beyond measure to have such a caring environment for each of our students.
